2008 UPA High School Western Championships

The 2008 High School Western Ultimate Championships are a brought to you by the Ultimate Players Association. This is the top tournament of the year for high school Ultimate teams in the Western United States and Canada. 14 Open teams and 11 Girls teams will come together on May 10th and 11th, 2008, in Independence, MO, to showcase high school Ultimate at its best.

The UPA would like to congratulate all the qualifying teams and welcome players, volunteers, and fans to Missouri. Find out all there is to know about the tournament, and if you can’t make it down for the event, keep up with the action through this site.

Lakeside (Open) and Northwest (Girls) Earn Titles

2008 UPA High School Western Championships came to a close Sunday, May 11 in Independence, MO with Lakeside (Seattle, WA) and The Northwest School (Seattle, WA) earning their first Open and Girls titles, respectively. Be sure to get all of the details on the results page.

Seedings and Schedule!

The seedings and game schedule have been posted for the 2008 UPA High School Western Championships. Both of last year's champions are back, with Churchill taking the #1 seed in the Girls Division. In the Open Division, The Northwest School looks like they'll have a tough road to defend their title from the #5 spot, but will it be a team from Washington or another state that has the best chance to wrest the title away from the three-time champions? VC Ultimate Awarded Official Merchandiser Contract

VC Ultimate has been awarded the official merchandiser contract for the 2008 UPA High School Western Championships. The UPA and VC Ultimate are excited to be teaming up again to support Youth Ultimate and look forward to making HS Westerns a memorable event for participants and fans.

Bids Announced

Bids for the 2008 UPA High School Western Ultimate Championships have been announced. A record number of Girls teams applied for the event, making this the largest Girls Division in the tournament's history. In the Open Division, the traditional Northwest powerhouses will travel far from home to join a strong field of teams from throughout the West. In both divisions, returning champions will take on new and familiar challengers in this exciting and highly anticipated tournament. Best of luck to all the teams, and thanks to all the players and coaches who continue to grow and support high school Ultimate.
